Ice conditions can change rapidly and vary significantly across Reed Lake. No ice should ever be considered completely safe.

Derby organizers will monitor conditions and conduct on-site ice measurements as the event approaches.

Ice observations, measurements, and official event-status announcements will be posted on this page as information becomes available.

Ice measurements and condition reports are provided for informational purposes only and do not guarantee safe ice conditions. Every participant is responsible for exercising good judgment and taking appropriate safety precautions.

Backup Event Date: Saturday, February 6, 2027

Official Go/No-Go Announcement: Thursday, January 21, 2027

The Multi-Lakes Hardwater Classic is currently scheduled for January 23, subject to ice and weather conditions.

Event organizers will evaluate measured ice conditions before making a final determination. If conditions do not permit the derby to proceed safely, the event may be moved to the February 6 backup date.

IMPORTANT DATES & ANNOUNCEMENTS

January 16, 2027 — Targeted Ice Conditions Report

Our first formal ice conditions report is planned for this date, subject to conditions allowing measurements. Findings will be posted on this page.

January 21, 2027 — Official Go/No-Go Decision

Organizers will announce whether the derby will proceed on January 23 or move to the backup date.

February 6, 2027 — Backup Event Date

If the January 23 event is postponed, the derby is scheduled to take place February 6, provided conditions permit.
